The Fertile Fragments exemplify the dramatic change in Radebaugh's paintings following a 2002 extended stay in Maine. He set aside the acrylics and natural pigments of many of his fragment paintings from 1998-2002 and returned to oils. The paintings that emerged form a dynamic world of saturated color.
