CHASING FRAGMENTS, 1982-2002
Alan's exhibition, Chasing Fragments 1982-2002, recently closed. From October 4th through November 2nd, 516 Magnifico Artspace was the setting for a visual journey through twenty years of Alan's career.
In her curator's statement, Cynthia Sanchez wrote, "Radebaugh highlights, studies, and carefully transcribes selected fragments into exquisitely refined records of [his] vision.... [He] reminds us of the grandeur of a blade of grass, the shadow of a leaf, and because of it we know something about the field of grass, the tree."
Other comments about the exhibit included:
"...[Radebaugh] reveals the struggle to capture portraits of a world that refuses to stand still." Wesley Pullka, Albuquerque Journal, Oct 27.
"[The fragments] inhabit an atmosphere of haunting restraint. Their graceful form suggests fluidity, gentility and energy." --Lisa Polisar, Crosswinds Weekly, Oct 24.
A WRAP-UP OF 2002
Chasing Fragments was the climax to an exciting 2002 for Alan. In addition to this exhibition, the year included the launching of a new website, RadebaughFineArt.com; an artist residency in Alberta, Canada; a two-person show at Coleman Gallery Contemporary Art, highlighting the Alberta Fragments; and inclusion in the 13th annual Art of Albuquerque exhibit at the Albuquerque Museum. In the catalogue for this exhibit, Douglas Kent Hall, commented on Alan's painting, Great Fragment I, "Rich and authoritative in its conception and execution, the fragment unrolls like some ancient and noble scroll that possesses neither a legend nor a reality."
This time a year ago, we began working on RadebaughFine Art.com. The site was launched in February of 2002. Webmaster Lisa Tannenbaum created the site, and it has effectively promoted Alan's work. Following the launching of the site, Alan was featured on ArtistRegister.com, Westaf's website, and NewMexicoDomains.com; and received an invitation to participate in When They Were Children on papaink.org. He has made new contacts and gathered new patrons.
